The project details

In 2021, the project “La Finestra – Italy’s Smallest Community Hub” was the winner of the Ministry of Culture’s Creative Living Lab – Contemporary Creativity call. The partnership is composed of Teatro Civico 14, Amatelab and Proloco Casertantica, and the project will contribute to the activation of the Former Post Office in Casertavecchia, entrusted under an agreement by the State Property Agency (Bando Cammini e Percorsi) to Itinerari Paralleli and Mutamenti Soc. Coop.
There were 1562 candidate projects and our proposal received a score of 92/100

Workshops

The project included workshops led by creative-cultural professionals to define the first artistic and territorial promotion actions of the community hub for spring summer 2022. Three pathways were open to cultural professionals, students, citizen/volunteers, artists, activists, representatives of local businesses, institutions and organizations. Each pathway was led by experts in the field as “cultural mediators.”

Cultural heritage and performing arts

Starting with the spaces in the “Ex-Posta” Tower and others to be identified in the Borgo and surrounding hamlets (Casolla; Mezzano; Puccianiello; Casola), we will build an artistic schedule to promote the area with theater, cinema and new media art.

With:
Rosario Lerro – theater director and operator
Marco Ghidelli – stage photographer, artist and lighting designer
Angelo Cretella – director, screenwriter and lecturer in language for film and television

Temporary architecture and street art

Starting from the incredible work of anthropologist Augusto Farraiuolo and his “Wonderful Tales” describing traditions and stories of the Upper Caertan, we will make ephemeral architecture and street-art interventions to “tell” the territory through installations and visual works.

With:
Augusto Ferraiuolo – anthropologist, professor at Boston University and author of numerous essays and research papers on Casertan folk culture
Luca “Bifido” Bifulco – internationally prominent street artist who interprets history, current events, life and community in his works on the streets of Italy and halfway around the world
Nicola Bove – architect, landscape architect, eco-sustainable temporary architecture enthusiast, co-founder of AmàteLAB.

In-depth meetings on culture and territory

A series of meetings to invite experts, scholars and lovers of art, culture and territory to the Borgo di Casertavecchia. An opportunity for exchange to nacsere new opportunities for knowledge and development for one of the most fascinating areas of Caserta.

With:
Carlo Ferretti – cultural designer, researcher and art director
Sergio Galasso – an expert in social planning and culturally-based spatial transformation processes
